Military History Tours On Tour - ANZAC Day in Athens 1 May 2012
We started today by visiting the Monastery that we could not see yesterday, the one where the 30 Nuns reside. A very beautiful and serene place it was and there seems to be the feminie touch to the gardens and the general ambiance of the place.
Jane Hoskings and Barbara Jennings both missed the visit yesterday but were very pleased that they were with us today.
We then headed north quite a way as our next place of call was to be Florina where we stay for two nights. At that area we will visit Vevi to walk the ground where the first action for the Australians in this campaign took place.
Arriving in Florina we were received by the Bishop, as we always do when we arrive in his area. Again he was pleased to receive us and gave us a blessing for our safe journey and insisted in having a group photo shoot.
We left His Holiness and proceeded to lunch in a restaurant high above Florina where we had spectacular views of the town and surrounding countryside.
