The Belmont Christian College had a change today when they were taken to Bruge for a relaxing, buying day. They did enjoy the time in this beautiful city that has been the centre of commerce in the region since the Dark Ages.
They had 4 hours to explore and most returned with chocolates and other goodies. The waffles had been well and truly consumed by the time they reached the coach. Many went for trips on the canals or just meandered through the narrow streets of this mediaeval town. In those narrow streets there are some very interesting shops and small museums to hold one’s attention.
This was a day of the antique and brick-a-brack markets. Many interesting pieces are for sale but we need to be cognizant of the weight restrictions on the flight back home, otherwise, who knows what wonders would be obtained.
Following that wonderful time in Bruge, we proceeded to Ieper where the Cloth Hall was visited and the historical bookshop had many visit and purchase items to further their knowledge of this part of the battlefield it. A relaxing afternoon exploring this walled city was had by all. For tomorrow will be a very memorable day indeed.
