Well here we are again in the UK for our 6th Bomber Command Tour. Today was the day when our group gathered into our hotel at Heathrow and prepared to commence our programme tomorrow.
Prior to meeting all our team a few ventured into London for a visit and when one hops of the tube at any station they are confronted with the history of the city. Also, it is reiterated to those who have visited London previously how integral to the city is the Tube. Without the Tube, London would struggle, as it will tomorrow due to a 24 hour strike called by the Tube staff.
Due to the strike, which will cause major issues in London, I have changed the programme and we will head out to the Air Force Memorial at Runnymeade and conduct a small service for those lost during the air campaign against Germany. Those named on the walls at the Memorial were lost and have no known grave.
We will therefore conduct our day away from Central London.
