Today we visited the battle sites at Dernancourt, saw the 3 Div memorial at Sailly le Sec and visited the Red Baron crash site.
As the weather closed in, we visited the Australian Corps Memorial Park at Le Hamel.
We then moved to the Australian National Memorial at Fouilloy where Anne and Jack Drummond were able to remember their relative, Henry Hope Ridley, and Tom and Peter Gibbons were able to locate a relative for a friend on the memorial panels.
The driving rain and cold then drove us into the Town Square at Villers Bretonneux where we had lunch and a well earned coffee.
We then moved to the southern end of the town to discuss the Australian attack which saved the town.
A visit to the Franco - Australian Museum in the Victoria School at Villers Bretonneux completed our day's touring.
